Product Range
Systems tested to international standards
For cryogenic conditions and to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI) of carbon steel and stainless steel, the company offers specialised coatings such as Hi-Temp 1027. It also offers specialty coatings for passive fire protection.
The painting systems are comprehensively tested to meet Norsok M 501, ISO 20340 and ISO 12944, and are certified by reputed Indian and international institutes and laboratories.
Colour matching at your doorstep. Epoxy and polyurethane paints matched any time, with all colours tinted to customer specification for the coating industry.

Who is behind the coatings
JOINT VENTURE
A 50:50 joint venture between Asian Paints and PPG, formed in 2012 for protective and powder coatings in India. The partnership with PPG has been extended for 15 years, from 2026 to 2041.
Brand
Sigma Coatings
A PPG brand that began in 1972, when three Dutch paint companies merged. One of them traces its roots to a pigment windmill set up in 1722. It is sold under PPG’s protective and marine coatings business.
Brand
Amercoat
A PPG protective coatings brand, sold alongside Sigma Coatings. PPG Protective & Marine Coatings supplies through a network in over 80 countries for marine, infrastructure, offshore, petrochemical and power projects.
Together the brands cover corrosion protection and passive fire protection, with resistance to chemicals, heat and atmospheric exposure.
TAILOR-MADE SOLUTIONS
Developed with the customer
For non-auto OEM customers, Asian Paints PPG works closely with them to develop coatings for asset protection, productivity, aesthetics and improved coating processes. It has experience in research and development of reliable, tailor-made coatings, and offers complete solutions: the choice of coating type, pre-treatment, application and curing technology.
HOW IT WORKS
How a heavy-duty coating system is built
coat 1
Primer
Zinc silicate or zinc-rich primers bond to prepared steel and give the first layer of corrosion protection.
coat 2
Intermediate
High-build epoxy adds film thickness, forming a barrier against moisture, salts and
chemicals.
coat 3
Topcoat
Polyurethane or polysiloxane finishes give colour, gloss and resistance to sunlight and weather.
CHOOSING A SYSTEM
Which coating for which surface
System choice depends on the environment and the durability you need. Confirm the final specification against the current technical data sheet.
Mild steel: zinc primer, epoxy intermediate and polyurethane or polysiloxane topcoat
Galvanized steel and aluminium: a suitable primer for adhesion, then epoxy and topcoat
Stainless steel and insulated pipes: specialised coatings such as Hi-Temp 1027 for cryogenic and CUI conditions
Concrete and RCC: epoxy-based protective systems
Tanks and vessels: glassflake and tank lining coatings
Structural steel needing fire protection: passive fire protection coatings
